The WP Minute – Episode 101

Show Script
This is Malcolm Peralty here from PressTitan and this is The WP Minute, Episode 101

WPTavern has a post that talks about all the recent controversy surrounding WordPress 5.0 and more specifically Gutenberg. It is a fairly long post that is primarily a transcript of some of what Matt Mullenweg said at WordCamp Portland. If you are interested in the Gutendrama, check out the post.

Kinsta has published an article that discusses WordPress Developer salaries. It looks like they are typically about a third lower than non-WordPress development salaries, something that people have been saying as an off-hand remark for many years now. It seems if you are a WordPress developer making over $65,000 per year, then you are doing well for yourself.

If you want to be overwhelmed with web analytics or just want to slow your site to a crawl, then this next post by WPBeginner about marketing data you must track should be right up your alley. Please don’t add a bunch of analytics plugins to your site to insert different analytics systems. The remote JavaScript is so slow that it can, if not done right, really harm your user experience.

That’s it for today’s WP Minute, thank you all for watching.
