This is Malcolm Peralty here from PressTitan and this is The WP Minute, Episode 104
Have you ever been to a WordCamp before? If not, you really should. They are a great opportunity to learn more about WordPress and get involved with the community. I’ve met many great people at WordCamps and have even been employed partially because of my attendance at one. And WordCamps are super affordable, despite an increase in price happening in 2019. Over on WPTavern, they talk about WordCamps going from $20 per day to $25 per day. Still cheaper than most conferences I attend.
WPEka has a post about hardening your WordPress security. It goes through some of the basics like keeping things updated and having difficult to guess usernames and passwords, but if you haven’t started doing some basic security auditing on your site, this post might help you out.
Lastly, Morten Rand-Hendriksen has posted on twitter asking for some WordPress positivity, and he has received over fifty responses to his call. I even responded because I’ve been so fortunate thanks to WordPress as it has been a staple of my career for over a decade now.
That’s it for today’s WP Minute, thank you all for watching.
