This is Malcolm Peralty here from PressTitan and this is The WP Minute, Episode 109
The WordPress 5.0 Release Candidate 1 is out. They just call it the Release Candidate, but there have been other instances where it took multiple release candidates to get everything done for a full release, and I am hoping that will be the same here.
They have continued to refine WordPress 5.0 with a final release expected tomorrow, the twenty-seventh.
Over on Torque Mag, there is a post about the practical side of developing WordPress plugins. The post could work just as well for any kind of development project as it doesn’t cover code or design, but instead covers considerations like how you intend on versioning your software. It isn’t my favourite post, but if you are gearing up to write a plugin in the new year, it might help you craft some organization.
Lastly, over on WPMU, they’ve announced Hello, WP!, a podcast about WordPress. It follows a new user getting started with WordPress and provides a deep dive into what things are like using WordPress. They have posted a trailer that sounds pretty good, but I found the Gutenberg episode that was also posted to be a bit boring. I guess I need a few visuals with my content.
That’s it for today’s WP Minute, thank you all for watching.
