This is Malcolm Peralty here from PressTitan and this is The WP Minute, Episode 129
Can the decision-making process that controls WordPress ever change? That’s the subject of a recent post on WPTavern that talks about the WordPress Governance Project. Matt Mullenweg has been fairly careful in his response to this community uprising of sorts and has basically said that he doesn’t think it always needs to be him at the head of the project but that he does want a strong, opinionated, thoughtful leader setting a bold direction. It should be interesting to see how it all shakes out.
Have you heard of AMP or Accelerated Mobile Pages? Well, TorqueMag will fill you in on the latest regarding a project originally started by Google to make the web a faster place, especially for mobile users. The article also covers why you might want to be using AMP today on your site.
Jeff Matson, after almost four years with rocketgenius working with the Gravity Forms team, has decided to part ways after what seems to be a lack of fit. He posted on twitter about the change saying “sometimes an aggressive approach to rapid-yet-sustainable growth, coupled with an intense desire for success, just doesn’t mesh well with an easy-going, no-worries company.” If you or some company you know is looking for a remote worker that understands the WordPress community and is willing to really hustle to promote a project that catches his fancy, then please make sure you or they reach out to Jeff.
That’s it for today’s WP Minute, thank you all for watching.
