The WP Minute – Episode 141

This is Malcolm Peralty here from PressTitan and this is The WP Minute, Episode 141

WordPress 5.1 beta 3 is out. We have another three weeks until the final version of 5.1, and I wonder how many more beta versions we will see in that time. The big feature scheduled for WordPress 5.1, the error protection function has been pushed to WordPress 5.2 instead. This beta includes some bug fixes and upgrades TinyMCE.

Lisa Sabin Wilson has finished her final edits on the 4th edition of the WordPress All-In-One book that will include information on the Gutenberg block editor. You can pre-order it on Amazon now.

10up has released a beta of their WP Acceptance tool that is an acceptance testing framework that lets you code tests in PHP to confirm things are working on your site as you’d expect them to. Is it a helpful tool? Someone else will have to let me know as a non-developer it is above my needs.

Lastly, I just wanted to point out that PressTitan has launched a new website. We are still refining a few things but it updates our service offerings, so I hope you’ll check it out. We are unbundling our hosting and WordPress management so you can get either of them independently, and we’ve lowered the costs on our combined Managed WordPress hosting plans, which has taken us a while to be able to do and maintain the level of speed and quality that makes us excited.

That’s it for today’s WP Minute, thank you all for watching.
