This is Malcolm Peralty here from PressTitan and this is The WP Minute, Episode 148
WPEKA has a post that covers the main reasons why you might run into a too many redirects error in WordPress and how to fix it. In my experience, it is often due to either a plugin or a setting conflict. To fix it, I’ll often have to edit the wp-config file to define the home and site URL as per the instructions in the post.
Over on WPExplorer, they have a post on how to troubleshoot the 502 bad gateway error. The article is done well, but in part of it, they show the person resolving issues from cPanel. As someone more technical I’d use my FTP application versus the file editor in cPanel. PressTitan doesn’t use cPanel, so if you ran into this issue with us, you’d just submit a ticket and we would handle it for you, so you can skip to step 8 in the article when hosting with us.
WPKube shows off how to add social proof to your website using Proven a WordPress plugin that adds those little alert pop-ups saying someone has bought something. Unfortunately, I never trust these when I see them as I know that they all include an option to create fake notifications. Maybe you will find it to increase your sales, but maybe you won’t. I guess it really depends on your audience. If you’ve had success with Proven or other plugins like it, please let me know.
Lastly, over on WPTavern, they have an article that covers Gutenberg Blocks Design Library, a plugin that creates easy to use page sections using built-in Gutenberg blocks. This is a very cool idea, and I am so impressed that someone took the time to do this. I hope to see more of this kind of work from people with regards to the block editor in the future. I was a bit sad to see that they also create a subscription service version, but during the launch event, the prices are all fairly reasonable.
That’s it for today’s WP Minute, thank you all for watching.
