This is Malcolm Peralty here from PressTitan and this is The WP Minute, Episode 35
It is another Gutenberg episode today as things are rapidly changing in the upcoming new publishing interface for WordPress. I’ll have some Gutenberg related videos out soon showing how it looks and works, so keep checking back for that.
The first story today comes from WPTavern where Pootlepress has announced Gutenberg blocks for WooCommerce stores running the Storefront theme. I hadn’t really thought about theme specific blocks, but in a way, it makes sense as the theme does have to support the output design of Gutenberg blocks. I’m a little worried what this will mean for the future if different blocks and features are locked into a theme, much like some drag and drop builders are today.
Speaking of drag and drop builders, CodeinWP asks if Gutenberg will replace the current suite of builders that people are using. The author seems to think that they’ll continue to have their place and highlights why he feels that way.
Lastly, WPBeginner has an article on how to disable Gutenberg and stick with the classic editor. Check out that article if Gutenberg has you confused or afraid.
That’s it for today’s WP Minute, thank you all for watching.
