This is Malcolm Peralty here from PressTitan and this is The WP Minute, Episode 38
Over on WPKube, there is an article that talks about a 502 Bad Gateway Error and how to fix it in WordPress. Typically these errors show up when your web server is too busy to send the web page to your visitor. Sometimes these issues persist and it can be difficult to figure out the source.
I suggest going with a better web host if you have these issues often. I have to insert a blatant promo here and say that PressTitan offers more than just WordPress hosting.
Over on Indivigital they talk about a new phishing scam that is going around that tries to get people to give their login information to a bad third party. The emails come in as Database upgrade or WordPress upgrade requests but then ask you what the URL of your website is. If your database needs to be upgraded, it knows the URL of your WordPress install. Please don’t fall for this kind of thing.
WordPress security can be time-consuming enough without users giving away their personal information to phishing attacks.
The last thing to mention today, I am considering doing a live WordPress Q&A. If you are interested, check out our Facebook page and let me know. I would love to help answer any kind of question you have regarding WordPress.
That’s it for today’s WP Minute, thank you all for watching.
