This is Malcolm Peralty here from PressTitan and this is The WP Minute, Episode 40
The first long-form video is out on the PressTitan YouTube channel. It covers some basics on how to improve how quickly your WordPress site loads. It weighs heavily on the slowdowns that plugins create but also touches on some other simple issues.
WPExplorer has published a post on the 5 best WordPress push notification plugins. If you want to stay up to date on what a website is doing or provide your visitors with the option to get a notification on their web browser or phone when you post an update, then these plugins might be for you.
I feel like every site has one of these plugins installed, but does anyone really click Allow on those boxes requesting push notification access? I know that I never have. I block all of those. If you have clicked allow, let me know in the comments below.
While he didn’t write a post about it on WPTavern, Jeff Chandler did post an interesting tweet where he commented how there are plenty of people on ThemeForest jumping on the Gutenberg or WordPress 5.0 bandwagon.
I am not surprised to see people marketing WordPress 5.0 support early, especially on ThemeForest. Buyer beware, I suppose.
That’s it for today’s WP Minute, thank you all for watching.
Browsing around the Envato marketplace for Gutenberg stuff and seeing how sellers are using the term to market their themes. Some say their theme is WordPress 5.0 compatible despite 5.0 not existing, heh. https://t.co/KRMopTIYgG
