This is Malcolm Peralty here from PressTitan and this is The WP Minute, Episode 60
Over on the Make WordPress Community area, there is a discussion surrounding the idea of increasing WordCamp ticket prices. For over seven years now, it has been set at the local equivalent of $20 US dollars per day.
I, like many that have commented, want to make sure that a low barrier to entry is maintained as much as possible, but I also do understand that the costs for holding such events have only gone up over the last three-quarters of a decade.
If you do audio podcasts, something we’ve tossed around doing at PressTitan a few times, then the latest post from WPExplorer is for you. It includes information on what plugins to look at and starts with some information on why you might want to podcast.
The last thing for today is a post on WPLift that highlights five rich snippets plugins for WordPress that adds schema markup. You might be saying to yourself: what!? WEll, schema markup lets search engines know what kind of content you have on your page and allows them to read that information in a way that they can use it and promote it. If you’ve ever seen ratings or additional facts around a search you did, then that’s rich snippets being shown thanks to schema markup.
That’s it for today’s WP Minute, thank you all for watching.
