This is Malcolm Peralty here from PressTitan and this is The WP Minute, Episode 66
I have been getting more and more experience with WooCommerce, and while I think it is a powerful extension for WordPress, I still don’t know it as well as I would like. Thankfully, WooSesh is coming up. Over on WPTavern, they have an article that talks about WooSesh and what you can expect.
WooSesh is a virtual conference on October 18th and 19th and it is free to join the live stream. Day one will be fairly general in how to use and set-up WooCommerce while day two will be more developer focused. I look forward to attending both days as much as possible so that I can deepen my knowledge of WooCommerce.
Over on Domain Name Wire, there is a post entitled The problem with WordPress. The first sentence gives away the authors thoughts stating that WordPress is too complex for the average small business owner to use.
The author then talks about reviews he has done for Wix, Weebly, Squarespace, Yahoo Small Business and GoCentral. I haven’t even heard of the last two.
The article ends with what they think is the holy grail – something like the easy site builder tools but also has the option to unlock the deep flexibility that WordPress has.
The comments on the article seem to agree that WordPress is too difficult to use, but I have trained many people to use the software and the issue seems to be more of a perception of difficulty due to the number of visible options rather than actual complexity.
That’s it for today’s WP Minute, thank you all for watching.
