This is Malcolm Peralty here from PressTitan and this is The WP Minute, Episode 82
Over on WPTavern, Jeff has posted about a rebrand. It looks like Polldaddy is now Crowdsignal. The rebrand doesn’t really matter, other than to remind me that the service exists. If you haven’t heard of it before, it lets you run surveys, quizzes and polls on your WordPress site. The service is owned by Automattic, so if you are one of the WordPress faithful that don’t like to get too intertwined with Automattic, that was your warning. Otherwise, look it over. I know they push paid options but you can start with a free account to see if it fits your needs.
HumanMade, one of the big WordPress agencies, has updated their Headless WordPress whitepaper. If you want to understand who would use the WordPress REST API and why then this document is for you. It is over forty pages long and provides history, technical information, and case studies on the WordPress REST API and how you can interact with WordPress in almost any programming language.
Speed is so important to us at PressTitan, so I love pointing out articles that might help you increase the speed of your website. DevriX has a post that walks you through why you need a CDN and provides some options that are available for getting one set-up.
Lastly, Yoast SEO 9.0 is out. People are already raving about the improvements, so check out the article on the release to learn more.
That’s it for today’s WP Minute, thank you all for watching.
