This is Malcolm Peralty here from PressTitan and this is The WP Minute, Episode 92
No camera today because I’m even more sick than yesterday. I’m also a bit tired from the amazing webinar that we ran yesterday. If you haven’t watched it, you can find it on our YouTube channel. There is some amazing information and resources in it.
The first story today is Gutenberg, of course. Jeff Chandler of WPTavern has posted about how efficient it is to post content on there by writing out the steps using the classic editor and the Gutenberg editor. It is safe to say that Gutenberg takes more time to do some things.
Secondly, WPShout has a post where they talk about free WordPress web hosting. I don’t recommend using free hosting, especially since there are places where you can get hosting for ten or twenty dollars a year. They cover some options that are available but the only one I’d recommend is WordPress.com for “free” WordPress.
Lastly, there are a few people annoyed by the approval of the Gutenberg Cloud plugin being added to the WordPress plugin directory. Both Carl Hancock of rocketgenius and the person running ClassicPress’ social media have put out tweets of frustration. It will be interesting to see if anything comes of this, but I have a feeling with how pro-Gutenberg certain key figures in WordPress are trying to be, Gutenberg Cloud is probably safe.
That’s it for today’s WP Minute, thank you all for watching.
