This is Malcolm Peralty here from PressTitan and this is The WP Minute, Episode 99
Continuing on yesterday’s story, WPTavern has a post that talks about the increasing number of people saying that WordPress 5.0 isn’t ready for primetime yet because of Gutenberg. They highlight a few different posts and reasons why people are feeling that way.
Bill Erickson gives his thoughts on building with Gutenberg on his personal blog. He starts with a reminder that this is a great next step for WordPress, but it has to be done right. I love the insight about not needing as many meta boxes or shortcodes to build out complex content pages thanks to Gutenberg blocks.
David Bisset has a post where he worked with youth to see what they think of Gutenberg. Most of them had never used WordPress before and while we don’t know the true extent of the testing, they felt the interface was pretty good overall.
Security is super important to us at PressTitan, and some of it requires our customers to be informed and take action on certain things. WPExplorer has a great post about typical security issues and how to mitigate them before they happen to you. As annoying as it can feel, two factor authentication is one of my favourites as it is difficult to get around.
That’s it for today’s WP Minute, thank you all for watching.
