Award submission

industry award entry

Definition

Award submission is the packet you file with a jury: work, results, and a narrative that does not inflate. A win is earned recognition if the jury is real and the fee is an entry fee, not a pay-to-win plaque. Many “awards” are vendor-sponsored lists. Treat those as paid or as nothing.

Do not write claims you cannot show a journalist. The submission will leak.

How it works

Pick juries your buyers already respect. Use verified numbers. If you win, the press release should name the program and the year, not “award-winning” forever. If you lose, do not quietly add a finalist logo anyway.

Worked example

A design team enters a real association award with a case study and before/after metrics. They win bronze. Two trade notes run. A separate “Best SaaS 2026” that required a $6,000 “membership” is not logged next to it.

How it differs

AR is research firms. Awards are juries. Coverage is journalism about the win, which is a separate pitch.

Common errors

Pay-to-play lists. Superlatives without the program name. Recycling a 2019 win as current.
